Profile
Justyna Burns is an Irish-based artist working in her studio in County Cavan. In her youth she participated for more than 8 years in art lessons in Poland, but her achievement came from her ambition in becoming a self-taught artist. Her artistic career started in 2004 in Germany where she previously studied nursing and took part in the "Future Capital" project, an EC Youth Program which supported her professional and personal development.
In the beginning she experimented a lot with colours to find the moods that can be achieved on canvas. Later she discovered the art of the big impressionists like Sargent, Sorolla and Zorn inspiring her to work in various techniques. She also learned traditional portrait painting from master artist Cesar Santos in a workshop held at The Florence Studio in Italy.
She now works with acrylic and oil paint with preference for large formats. She exhibited in Vienna beside many talented art students followed by Germany and Ireland in solo and group shows.
As an artist she wants to represent beauty through narrative design, simplicity and quietness in the captured moments in her adventure and personal debate with world and life.
